Begins with a single step. (~Lao Tzu)
Beginning this blog has been on my mind for several months. As I continued to dream about what the process could look like, what I might write in it, what I wanted to say, I was overwhelmed, intimidated, unsure, and felt stuck. I am not sure what this journey will become; I can plan all I want, but at some point, I just will need to start. If I wait for the “perfect” moment or statement or reflection in order to begin, I am afraid I will never take the first step.

With this first post, I will set my intentions for how I will use this platform, with the understanding that my intentions will most likely change — and that is okay. Because the only constant in this Universe is Change.
I would like this to be a platform not only for professional reflection about education, teaching and learning, but also one for personal reflections about broader issues. What 2020 has taught me is that there is no such thing as having a separation of personal from professional settings, as what is happening all around us, in our communities, our families, our society at large has an incredible impact on our world view and how we see, interact, and make decisions about the world around us.
In that spirit, I open myself up to sharing about my professional reflections on pedagogy, learning, and teaching, in and out of the classroom, as well as sharing about my personal life and how it interacts in that context.
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
